Criminal Injuries

CICA is the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority – the government body that’s been set up to help innocent victims of violent crime.

It pays out compensation based on the severity of any injuries that the victim might have received at the hands of a criminal. Some people can also use CICA to claim for loss of earnings and other special expenses. Applications need to be submitted within two years of a crime taking place (though CICA will sometimes waive that time limit under certain circumstances).

We’ve been dealing with CICA claims for our clients for many years now and have built a high level of expertise in negotiating these legal waters. Being a government body, naturally there’s a bit of red tape to deal with – we know how to handle that. And of course we’ll be supporting you every step of the way, at every stage of the application. Because that’s how we do things.

At Fletchers we deal with all manner of traumatic events and helping people learn to cope with their lives after them. If you’ve suffered a Serious Spinal Injury or you are a victim of Clinical Negligence then our legal experts can help you get back on track.

If you’ve suffered from injuries arising from a crime and you think you’re eligible for a CICA award – or indeed if you have any questions about the scheme – call us on 0333 355 7828 or fill out our online form.
