Engineers Report Received
What does this mean?
This means that we have received a report from a qualified engineer describing the extent of the damage to your vehicle and either the cost of repairing it or the pre-accident value if the vehicle is a total loss. We will send a copy of the engineer’s report to you for your approval. If you approve the report it will be sent to the insurers as evidence in support of your claim.
Generally speaking we will only obtain an engineers report in cases where your insurance cover is “third party only” or “third party, fire and theft”. If you are insured under a comprehensive policy your own insurers will usually instruct their own engineer to inspect your vehicle.
