It's your employers duty to protect you.
If you're injured at work you may be able to claim personal injury compensation.
Any claim must be made within 3 years of the accident date, and as with all personal injury claims, you must be able to prove that your injury, illness or disease was caused by the negligence of another party. This could be your employer or another individual or company.
We are committed to maximising the amount of accident compensation due to you and our team of professional lawyers will guide you through the process from start to finish, dedicated to fighting your corner. We understand that there can be difficult times after such an accident, particularly if you are losing earnings as a result of your injury. We will do everything we can to ensure a swift conclusion to the issues in your case and, where appropriate, will obtain an interim payment on your behalf as soon as possible.
What should I do if I have an accident at work?
- Make sure you record any injury in the accident book
- Make sure your employer has reported it to the HSE
- Check your contract of employment for information about sick or accident pay. You should be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay but you may also be entitled to Company Sick Pay or benefits.
- Consult your GP or a doctor at hospital, even if your injuries do not seem serious. The accident details and injuries will be recorded and this could help you if you ultimately bring a personal injury claim for compensation
Even if your accident does not seem serious, register your claim as an Industrial Injury with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
