The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) is a government body for innocent victims of violent crime.
The CICA compensate in accordance with a tariff based on the severity of the injury or injuries. It is also possible to claim for loss of earnings and other special expenses. The scheme has a provision for any amount rewarded to be reviewed on appeal.
An application must be submitted within two years of the crime in question taking place, although the CICA will waive this time limit in certain circumstances. Fletchers have been dealing with CICA claims for clients for many years and will ensure that you are supported through every stage of your application.
