It all began back in 1979 when Rob Fletcher first qualified as a solicitor. During these formative years in the business, he started to develop a particular passion: to defend the rights of injured accident victims.
It took a few years but in 1987 Rob – by then a partner in a general law practice – decided to fully follow that passion by forming a new legal firm that would specialise in litigation and, in particular, personal injury litigation, protecting the rights of injured accident victims. And in November of that year, Rob set up shop in Southport with a team of nine people.
With that cornerstone belief in place, Fletchers Solicitors was born. And although the company was also involved in crime and divorce litigation, its real strength lay in personal injury work, particularly serious injuries and motorbike accidents. We very quickly built up an enviable reputation for being one of the best, most caring companies specialising in this field.
This, combined with Rob’s passion for motorcycling and his championing of the victims of motorbike accidents, helped us cement that reputation as the go-to firm for any form of serious injury in a very short period of time.
And with a growing reputation and a growing caseload, it was only natural that the workforce would grow too. Today, Fletchers is led by our CEO, Alex Hatchman, and there are over 400 people in the business. Another field that we specialise in is that of medical negligence. This department has grown rapidly and because it’s staffed by some of the best legal minds (not to mention some of the most understanding people) in the business, its reputation is now one of the best in the field.
So, while the company has changed substantially over the years, one thing has remained constant – the determination to do the best for victims of motorbike accidents, serious injury and medical negligence. It’s what has kept Fletchers Solicitors out in front since its inception and it’s what will keep us there for the foreseeable future.
