Assistant Litigation Executive – Quick Tracks (MNEG114)

Role

You will be the initial member of a small team designed to deal quickly and proactively with lower valued medical negligence cases with a ‘light touch’ approach to file handling in preparation for the potential introduction of FRC.

You will be expected to handle cases transferred from senior solicitors when assessed as falling into the quick tracks criteria,

You will be responsible for requesting and then reviewing medical records, drafting LOC, quantifying claims and negotiating settlement under the supervision of the more senior members of the team.

The role will be working under supervision of the Quick Tracks team leader

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft programmes
  • Proficient in Proclaim case management
  • Good document drafting skills
  • High levels of customer care
  • Previous fee earning experience within a medical negligencedepartment is preferable
  • Experience in reviewing medical records would be preferred

Main Responsibilities

  • Requesting medical records
  • Reviewing medical records
  • Reviewing cases
  • Dealing with client queries
  • Drafting letters of claim
  • Quantifying cases and negotiating settlement
  • Ensuring work undertaken on cases is proportionate to their value
  • Providing advice to clients on potential issues on their case
  • Ensuring your cases are kept on track and are settled as quickly as possible or moved on for issue
  • Adhere to company best practise
  • Recording time in accordance with the team’s KPI’s
