Fletchers Solicitors Ltd have a fantastic opportunity for an experience Cost Supervisor to join the Drafting Cost team!

Location: Southport/ Hybrid

We are one of the country’s leading consumer law firms and have recently been acquired by an affiliate of Sun European Partners LLP, whose focus is on growing our already successful business considerably in the next few years.

As we gear up for growth, we are adding to our already successful team to start our new financial year strongly. We are looking for the right person to be part of a growing/thriving Costs team.

An opportunity has arisen for a Costs Supervisor at a leading law firm based in Southport. You must have proven experience in a managerial role with a minimum of 4 years’ experience of preparing bills of costs and costs budgets. You will be working within a busy team and must have the ability to manage your own with the team’s case load and adhere to strict SLA’s. This is a great opportunity to join a market-leading and expanding firm, at the forefront of clinical negligence, personal injury litigation and data breach claims

If you enjoy supervising and developing a team, have experience drafting bills of Costs, good organisational, planning with good communications skills, experience of proclaim and Cost Master this could be the role for you!

Role Profile:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Case allocation
  • SLA monitoring
  • Ensuring MI up to date and accurate
  • Liaising with fee earners regarding any questions/queries
  • PDMRs
  • 1 to 1 s
  • Monitoring chargeability
  • Any duties, which the Head of needs carrying out
  • Attending team meetings with fellow supervisors/HOFs/D
  • Maintaining a case load
  • Preparation of detailed bills of costs, costs schedules and costs estimates
  • Review of opponent’s points of dispute and preparation of replies.
  • Ensuring that the quality of work produced is to the highest standard.
  • Management of daily workloads as well as achieving service level agreements.
  • Be able to work to deadlines and prioritise matters to ensure targets are delivered.
  • Ensuring that the Client is regularly updated as to the current situation on matters
  • Ensuring that care is taken to ensure good working relationships with internal colleagues
  • Being responsible for maximising the firm’s profitability whilst maintaining the highest Client care standard
  • Adhering to the firm’s policies.
  • Any other duties as reasonably required by the business.


Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Proven experience of drafting bills of costs
  • Experience of Proclaim
  • Experience of Cost Master
  • Organisational, planning and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good general IT skills
  • Time management
  • Ability to use initiative
  • Working effectively within a team.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
