PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To lead the Programme Delivery function which supports the delivery of Fletchers’ strategies and plans

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Strategy & Leadership
  • Lead and develop the strategic planning process aligned to the financial business planning process
  • Manage delivery of the transformation portfolio, ensuring that programmes stay on track and deliver the planned benefits
  • Lead the adoption of best practice programme delivery tools, templates & methods
  • Oversee the required governance for large change programmes
  • Track and monitor the benefits (both financial and operational) delivered by change programmes
  • Support the business to successfully integrate any M&A with the existing business through a dedicated programme/project approach
  1. People Management
  • Lead the Strategy & Transformation team
  • Coach, develop and support managers to achieve excellent strategic & transformation practice across Fletchers
  • Model “Wise, Kind and Strong” management behaviours
  1. Technical
  • Provide high-level advice and guidance on any and all Strategy & Transformation issues including developing strategic plans, implementing and project-managing plans, content and presentation of plans, best practice change management
  • Support stakeholders in the creation of detailed and accurate businesses cases
  • Troubleshoot projects that have drifted off track, providing analysis supported by available data to find solutions to bring delivery and benefits back on track
  • In support of the above, run workshops with project team and business area owners in order to promote collaboration as well as find solutions
  • Lead and monitor change management processes where appropriate

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience of working in a senior Transformation role, ideally with a consultancy background
  • Strong, demonstrable experience of managing complex strategic change
  • Knowledge of good practice project, programme and portfolio management and change management
  • Highly numerate, with strong data analysis skills
  • Ability to analyse the outcomes of programmes and demonstrate the value they have created (both financial and operational) to stakeholders and the wider business
  • Experience of coaching and developing managers in best practice strategy development and transformation
  • Ability to work under pressure and to manage multiple priorities effectively, proactive, and willing to use own initiative
  • Ability to role model good practice strategic leadership
  • Technology literate, with the ability to use technology to enhance strategy and transformation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to form positive working relationships with a wide variety of team members
