Volunteering has a positive impact on my mental health and here are my top five top reasons for putting yourself forward.
- Gain confidence in yourself:
Mingle and speak to those you normally wouldn’t have the opportunity to. It’s amazing what you can learn, especially if they’re older and wiser than you are.
- Make a difference:
Some of the people you meet won’t have visitors very often. Spending a little time in their company can really makes a difference.
- Learn new skills:
We all know how to do our day to day job, but volunteering can lead to new skills. You never know, you may even have hidden talents you didn’t know about.
- Make new friends:
You can meet like-minded people who have similar interests.
- Have fun
Volunteering is not a chore. It’s fun and you can brighten someone’s day be just being there.
