Dash cam footage assists motorcyclist in £100,000 road traffic accident settlement

A 51-year-old man has received a £100,000 settlement after being involved in a crash that was captured on a dash cam.

The accident happened when a car did a U-turn in front of him on the A58 in Bury, knocking him off his motorbike. The car was travelling in the opposite direction to the motorbike, when it suddenly turned right across his path, in order to perform the manoeuvre.

The motorcyclist was left with very significant injuries including a head injury, fracture of the pelvis, a fractured rib, sensory changes to his left foot, soft tissue injuries to his neck and right shoulder and a distal radius fracture. He also has psychological symptoms as a result of the accident.

The client had been through a difficult few years after splitting up from his partner and he lost his mother following a short battle with cancer. He was starting to feel more positive about life, and then the accident happened, turning his life upside down.

He hopes to be able to buy his own property with the money and also hopes to get back into para motoring which was something he used to really enjoy doing.
