Fletchers Chairman Raises Over œ6000 for Charity

5th January 2015

The Walton Centre are one step closer to their Home from Home appeal target after it was confirmed that Rob Fletcher had raised a total of œ6270 singlehandedly with a staggering œ34,881.51 across the whole team for his Calais to Ventoux cycle ride.

Rob and his team cycled the length of France and took on Tour de France’s most notorious mountain to finish – Mont Ventoux.

The team took on this challenge for the Walton Centre’s Home from Home appeal which aims to provide eight ensuite bedrooms enabling families of patients to stay at the facility, as currently families are sleeping in chairs in visitor rooms.

The Walton Centre is the only specialist NHS unit for neurosciences in the UK. Their specialisms lie in the diagnosing and treating of injuries and illnesses that affect the brain, spine and peripheral nerves and muscles. They also aid patients who suffer from long-term illnesses caused by neurological disorders. The majority of their patients come from the Merseyside, Cheshire and Lancashire areas, but are able to provide specialist treatment and complex disorders from patients across the UK.

If you would like more information on the Home from Home Appeal please visit the Walton Centre’s website at www.thewaltoncentre.nhs.uk.

Well done Rob!
