Graduate Work Experience – Danniy

19th November 2015

The event was hosted by Legal Cheek, and looked at diversity and changes within the legal profession. Students of all backgrounds and levels, both legal and non-legal, were welcome to attend and ask questions to the panel.

Following the panel discussion, the attendees were offered the chance to meet the panellists, ask further questions and converse about a variety of topics. Danniy, a Criminology & Psychology graduate from the University of West London, chose to question Ed further about her potential career path.

“He was surrounded by so many people wanting to speak to him. I wanted to ask about his recommendations for exploring a career in Law. With my aims to become a solicitor I had been looking at completing my Graduate Diploma in Law, and then followed by a Legal Practice Course, however as it is such a large financial commitment, I wanted to gain some guidance first. Ed was really helpful in answering my questions and advised me that I should be getting as much experience in different legal areas as possible to help make a decision.”

After the event, Danniy researched about Fletchers further and decided to email about coming to Fletchers to complete work experience. However, Danniy lives nearly 200 miles away from our offices in Southport. This didn’t discourage her though, and she has joined us this week to explore working within a law firm.

Ed was pleased that Danniy could join us to gain work experience; “I’m delighted our story here at Fletchers resonated with Danniy in a way that inspired her to come and experience what it’s like to be part of the Fletchers Family. We want to encourage the best young lawyers from around the country to come and be a part of our exciting vision for the future. As long as young lawyers share and live our values, a diversity of background and experience is something we crave here at Fletchers as it leads to strength and resilience in the organisation.”

We will be keeping up to date with Danniy whilst she is at Fletchers, finding out what she’s been getting up to and how she has found her work experience with us. To find out more about being part of the team at Fletchers please visit: www.fs.co.uk/careers to see our current vacancies.
