Consultant awarded £40,000 after third party admits liability for horrific vehicle collision

A Cheshire man has been awarded £40,000 after the driver of a third party vehicle caused a horrific collision leaving the claimant with a string of life altering injuries.

Jonathan Harker, a 29 year old IT Consultant from Knutsford, was travelling along A556 Chester Road in Northwich when a third party pulled out of a side road on the claimant’s left side and caused a serious accident collision.

In an effort to escape unscathed, Mr Harker did his best to swerve but this was not possible due to the speed the defendant was travelling at and the short distance Mr Harker had to react in.

As a result, the claimant required surgery to his left leg which included two metal rods before the metal work was removed in further surgery on 27th February 2017.

In total, Mr Harker endured a string of life altering injuries that included:

– Fracture to left femur
– 2 fractures to tibia
– Shattered fibula
– Soft tissue injury to left leg and foot
– Severe bruising to lower left leg
– Bruising to right leg
– Suspected internal bleeding – although client states that no evidence was found of this.

Mr Harker also had to have injections to prevent blood clots and was admitted to hospital for a bone infection where he received a course of antibiotics.

He underwent surgery to deal with the bone infection on 31st October, 2017 and was discharged on 14th November, 2017 where he moved in with his parents who assisted rehabilitate Mr Harker back into day-to-day life.

Mr Harker appointed Fletchers Solicitors to pursue a claim against the defendant and the third party insurers admitted primary liability.
