Motorcyclist receives £30K settlement following collision

The Incident
Our client, a 22-year-old Manufacturing Operative, was travelling along the road on his motorcycle, when he overtook another vehicle, which was travelling slowly. Having not performed the necessary checks, the Defendant turned right into a side road, leading to a collision. Our client was treated for the following serious injuries:
• Metatarsal fractures (1st, 4th and 5th) to the left foot
• Multiple rib fractures
• Lacerations to both hands, causing scarring
• PTSD, mixed anxiety and depressive disorder
The case
Following the RTA, the client contacted Fletchers seeking legal support. The case was taken on by Serious Injury Litigation Executive, Ceri Dudley, with support from Assistant Litigation Executive, Sarah Ryan.
The aftermath
As someone who works in a manual role, the accident had an impact upon his work. In addition, he has been left suffering outside of his prognosis, with an orthopaedic expert commenting that the client was left with “curled toes.”
The case outcome
The case was resolved on a 50/50 split in terms of liability and our client received a settlement of £30,000.
Commenting on the case, Ceri said:
“The client has been a pleasure to act for throughout the claim. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident, and these types of claims can be a lengthy process from infancy to settlement. Regardless, the claimant and his mother have been nothing short of polite and patient throughout. Sarah and I wish him all the best with his future and recovery.”
