My Placement – John

14th August 2015

John is one of the four law students that have joined us for part of their summer, to be immersed into life at Fletchers on a work placement. Having recently graduated from Edge Hill University with a first class law degree, John is eager to gain experience and an insight into how each department in Fletchers operates. He has plans continue his education after graduating last month and in September is going on to complete a LLM (Masters of Law).

?Competition to enter the legal sector is increasingly fierce and legal experience has become a necessity for aspiring practitioners. I decided to apply for the placement at Fletchers because of how it was structured. The rotating structure of the placement has enabled me to immerse myself into the heart of Fletchers and gain an insight into how each of the departments operate, therefore gain experience within a highly successful personal injury firm.?

Our My Placement students have been given the opportunity to experience all of the departments within Fletchers throughout their placement. This allows them to gain knowledge within a legal working environment and benefit from seeing a variety of different types of cases. We asked John how he has found his time at Fletchers so far:

?This placement has been extremely informative, valuable, and thoroughly enjoyable. Having the opportunity to draft documents, experience telephone hearings, review reports, and understand the process of a claim from start to finish are the sorts of experiences you can only attain from high quality work placements. My Placement will certainly enable me to stand out as a prospective candidate in the legal job market.?

We will be checking in with more of our placement students over the coming weeks to see how they are finding their time at Fletchers. If you want to be a part of the Fletchers team visit our careers website to see our current vacancies:
