Walton Centre Charity Cricket Match

21st July 2016

On Sunday, some of our team members took part in The Walton Centre Charity Cricket Match at Wavertree Cricket Ground.

Andrew Clark and Ajith Prasad from our serious injury and medical negligence teams joined the Walton Warriors team to play against the visually impaired cricket champions, the Cheshire Cobras.

The Walton Warriors levelled the playing field by playing whilst wearing restricted vision glasses, with some players wearing blindfolds. The game was played with great spirit and competitiveness from both sides and saw the Walton Warriors come out on top for the first time since the event started 3 years ago.

Both teams performed well and the day was a great success. Andrew commented, “It was a great experience and amazing to see the Cobras playing so well, and it proved to be a close game with Walton Centre just managing to scrape the victory.”

Ajith also told us what it was like being involved in the game: “It was a very humbling experience for me, playing with people who are both very passionate about the game but at the same time suffering from visual impairment, some completely blind. I was happy to take part and raise some money for the Walton Centre.”

We are proud to be involved with such a fantastic charity, and would like to say well done to both teams!
