Ed is extremely proud of the talent that has been attracted to Fletchers’ vision and values but even prouder of talent grown within the Fletchers’ Academy.
Ed always ensures the injured person is at the centre of everything Fletchers does. Having severed his spinal cord in a motorbike accident over 19 years ago, no one is better suited to understand the needs of the severely injured. The Chambers directory, which ranks the world’s leading lawyers, noted Ed to be “an approachable lawyer with a comprehensive understanding of complex spinal cord injury cases.” In addition to this he was shortlisted as ‘Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year’ at the National PI Awards and is a member of the exclusive Forum Of Complex Injury Solicitors.
Whilst the organisation has expanded, employee engagement and communication has remained at the heart of Ed’s vision as Chief Executive; this can be shown by Fletchers getting in ‘The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For’ whilst also tripling turnover and headcount to more than 430 people.
Under Ed’s leadership, financial performance and building Fletchers’ status as number one in its specialities of Medical Negligence, Motorbike Accident and Serious Injury work (The Lawyer Boutique Firm of the Year 2016 finalist) have come, whilst always staying true to doing the right thing by both our People (Investors In People Gold Award) and our Customers. Ed has been shortlisted as Leader of the Year in The Guardian Business Showcase.
Ed attended the Oxford University Strategic Leadership Programme and has an MA in Developing Professional Practice from Lancaster University.
In addition to all that, Ed still finds time to be a husband and father, sit-skier and swimmer, at one time being a member of the Team GB Para Triathlon Squad.
In October 2018, Ed was shortlisted for the Law Society’s Legal Personality of the Year.
