Thomas Williams, a 31 year old store manager at Tesco, received his settlement monies after he was driving down Fosse road in Leicester and was knocked off his motorcycle by a BMW 3 Series.

The third party vehicle pulled out of a side road and continued to manoeuvre straight into the left side of Thomas’ motorcycle.

In the wake of the crash, Thomas suffered a string of injuries and psychological disturbance that left him unable to participate in a number of his favourite sports.

Thomas attended Leicester Royal Infirmary, in Leicester following the accident and his injuries included:

Major fracture of the left calcaneum and fracture of the distal end of the calcaneocuboid joint.

Significant soft tissue degloving injury to the lateral aspect of the lower leg overlying fibula and dorsum of the left foot and soft tissue injuries

Thomas had previously fractured his fibula in 2008 and the injuries sustained in the accident caused a worsening of his condition.

Thomas underwent the removal of metal work (which he already had prior to the accident) in his left ankle and significant scar tissue on 30th March 2017.

Prior to the incident, Thomas was a keen football, darts and pool player and afterwards he experienced a number of psychological symptoms from stress, travel anxiety, mood disturbance and recurrent impairment of concentration.

The third party insurers admitted liability on 4th July 2016 and the claim was issued for limitation purposes (it was approaching 3 years from the date of the accident) to ensure the right for the client to pursue the claim was protected.
