Colleague Spotlight: Alison Green

What has been your journey at Fletchers Group so far?

My journey at Fletchers began a year ago when I applied for the position of Nurse Analyst, I got the role, and I started at the company in September.

I have been overwhelmed with the amount of support I have received from the whole team. I feel completely settled into my role having left a long career in the NHS, it was a huge change!

Describe a workday in the life of Alison

A working day can be challenging, interesting, fulfilling and busy. As a Nurse Analyst, my role is to complete case work, support the senior team and colleagues, and assist in achieving company targets.

If you could give your younger self career advice, what would you say?

If I could give my younger self career advice, I would say always believe in yourself, embrace change and be confident!

Who would be your dream dinner guests and why?

My dream dinner guests would be Ant and Dec, I think they would be extremely entertaining, and we’d have a great laugh.

What is something people would be surprised to find out about you?

I think people would be surprised to know I love rugby and football! My teams are Liverpool FC and Wigan Warriors; I like to go along and watch them with my sons and my husband. I think being a mother of three boys initiated my love for sport, what do they say… if you can’t beat them, join them!

What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started their career?

The best advice I could give to someone who has just started their career is if they are not sure of something, just ask. Life is about challenges and learning, be confident. Set realistic goals and be proud of what you achieve.

What has been the highlight of your MLS career so far?

The highlight of my MLS career so far has been being asked to do Colleague Spotlight! Last Monday marked World Nurse’s Day, and when I was contacted by my manager and advised I had been asked to take part, I felt overwhelmed and emotional as I hadn’t been a part of the business for that long. I previously worked in accident and emergency as a nurse for 31 years, so it was great to get recognition after embracing such a change in career.
