Throughout 2018-2019, Allergan textured breast implants were withdrawn from the UK and European market after they were found to be linked to a rare cancer called Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL).

Many women were not fully informed of these risks at the time of their surgery. Others were left without clear guidance or follow-up when safety concerns came to light.
