I have over 20 years of experience in clinical negligence claims and qualified as a Solicitor in 2012.

I started my legal career in 2004 with Hertfordshire-based law firms, initially specialising in personal injury and mental health law. In 2011, I achieved Law Society panel accreditation for Mental Health and balanced my early career between mental health Tribunal advocacy and clinical negligence claims.

I have a strong track record of handling legally and medically complex cases, including claims valued at up to £15 million. My experience covers a wide range of clinical negligence work, including obstetric and gynaecological injuries (including cerebral palsy), negligent orthopaedic surgery, multiple limb amputations, spinal cord injuries, fatal accidents and inquests.

I am drawn to clinical negligence work because clients often come to us at some of the most difficult and life-changing moments in their lives. It’s a privilege to support them through those times with clarity, compassion, and determination. I am also motivated by the opportunity to help drive meaningful change. Too often, we see the same mistakes happening, and I believe each case should not only achieve the right outcome for the individual but also contribute to improving standards and preventing similar harm in the future.

I pride myself on being a good listener and taking the time to really understand each client and their individual circumstances. Building that trust is incredibly important to me, and I think it’s reflected in the fact that I remain in touch with some clients even years after their cases have settled.

I believe it’s essential to understand not just the legal aspects of a case, but also how an injury affects every part of a person’s daily life. That insight is key to building a settlement that truly reflects their needs, both now and in the future. In my approach, I am both determined and tenacious in pursuing the best possible outcome, while also maintaining a collaborative and constructive relationship with the other side where appropriate.

I represented a client in a claim against the Ministry of Defence relating to a delayed and incorrect orthopaedic diagnosis. The seven-year litigation involved complex medical evidence, and the client had unnecessary surgery while the underlying condition grew worse. Through our own expertise, the correct diagnosis was identified, and our client was able to have the surgery he should have had years earlier. Our client has been able to move forward positively, with fulfilling new career.

I was instructed on a highly complex, high-value stillbirth claim involving cross-jurisdictional issues, which I have managed over multiple years across different law firms. This demonstrates both my technical expertise and a meticulous, client-focused approach.

I’m a qualified run leader and have completed several marathons, including the London Marathon and the Edinburgh Marathon, as well as taking on my own solo marathon challenge during the Covid pandemic.

I am also a keen hiker, and often spend time in the French Alps in the summer months. I also enjoy participating in various charity events such as the “3 Peaks Challenge”.

When I’m not in the mountains or out running, my guilty pleasures are catching up on EastEnders and Netflix series such as the Good Doctor!
