Who am I

I lead a team of specialist lawyers within our Catastrophic Injury team and also oversee our Public Inquiries work. I specialise in handling complex, life-changing injury cases, supporting clients and their families through some of the most challenging times in their lives.

I also work alongside Court of Protection in cases where clients or their loved ones may lack the capacity to manage their own affairs, helping to ensure the right financial and legal support is in place.

In addition, I have over 14 years’ experience representing individuals who have been seriously injured in workplace accidents, often in particularly complex cases.

Why I do this work

I’m passionate about the work that I do and feel privileged to be able to make a meaningful difference during some of the most difficult periods in my clients’ lives. I strive to secure justice that allows clients to move forward with dignity and choices about their future, not only by maximising compensation but also by ensuring access to rehabilitation and support from day one.

Serious injury work combines complex legal and medical issues with genuine human impact, and I find that balance particularly rewarding. I’m interested in helping clients secure the rehabilitation, support, and compensation they need to rebuild their lives after life-changing injuries. I’m also drawn to the long-term client relationships and the challenge of managing high-value, complex cases with sensitivity and attention to detail.

How I work with clients

It’s crucial for to me to get to know my clients and their families, building trust and a genuine connection, so I can truly understand what matters most to them. I have a down-to-earth approach and building relationships with my clients allows me to focus on securing the right rehabilitation and support to meet their needs. I put my clients at the forefront of everything I do.

I also work closely with experienced barristers, case managers and medical experts to achieve the best possible outcomes. Where appropriate, I work collaboratively with all parties to move cases forward, but when needed, I take a firm and determined approach to ensure my clients receive the justice and compensation they deserve.

Outcomes

ANON

Our client suffered a serious spinal injury which had a lasting impact on his mobility. We secured an early interim payment of over £100,000, helping to relieve immediate financial pressure and enabling a quick move from NHS care to a private rehabilitation unit. There, he spent 12 weeks in intensive therapy and was able to learn to walk again – an outcome that had not been possible in the NHS. From our very first meeting in hospital, one of his key goals was to return to motorcycling. Supporting him in achieving this has remained a central focus throughout his recovery.

ANON

Our client was a transtibial amputee suffering from Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. He couldn’t tolerate a traditional prosthetics socket and so had remained wheelchair dependent and severely restricted for several years before he moved his case to Fletchers. We secured key medical advice from some of the country’s leading experts to help him explore Osseointegration surgery, which involves fixing a metal implant into his femur bone upon which his prosthetic could be fixed. As a result, he has successfully undergone the surgery and is progressing to trialling his first prosthetics.

ANON

Our client suffered a life-changing spinal cord injury, which left him paralysed in both his arms and legs. His state-funded care was woefully inadequate, consisting of several pop-in care calls a day, and he was without suitable accommodation – this meant he was housebound and confined to his bed. We were able to transform his life and independence by securing over £1million of interim payments to set up a privately funded 24-hour live-in care package and bought and adapted a bungalow for him throughout the lifetime of the claim. This finally meant he could access the community again and see his friends and family. He took his first holiday abroad and would often speak of the joy of feeling the sun on his skin again.

My team

Each case is led by a Partner alongside a senior lawyer, ensuring expert oversight from the beginning. We take a close-knit team approach and limit our caseload so every client receives focused attention and support.

What I enjoy about working at Fletchers

What drew me to the Fletchers initially and has kept me here is the firm’s unique ability to combine an inclusive and welcoming work environment, and exceptional colleagues who really do support each other, while managing complex caseloads of the maximum severity.

Outside of work

I have two children who keep me very busy away from the office. I have a passion for cooking and creating new and diverse dishes. I also love going to the theatre, not least because I get to live vicariously through the actors, which would have been my chosen career had I not pursed law. Anyone who knows me knows I love nothing better than getting into character!
