Who am I

I qualified as a solicitor in 1999 and have specialised in clinical negligence throughout my career. I handle the full range of cases but have a particular interest in cancer and orthopaedic claims, supporting clients who have suffered avoidable harm and life changing injuries. Over the years, I have represented individuals and families at some of the most difficult points in their lives, helping them access the care, support and financial security they need for the future.

My work is driven by a commitment to patient safety and better practice. Having family members who are doctors, I understand that no clinician intends to cause harm, but when things do go wrong, it is vital that patients have access to specialist legal advice. I feel privileged to play a part in helping clients rebuild their lives after injury.

Why I do this work

I have wanted to work in law from a young age to make a difference and help people, and becoming a specialist clinical negligence solicitor has allowed me to do exactly that. I support clients who have suffered catastrophic injuries as a result of avoidable harm and help them access the compensation, care and stability they need to move forward. I also believe strongly in the role our work plays in promoting patient safety, ensuring that clients feel heard, supported and able to seek redress. Being able to guide people through that process and help them rebuild their lives is a privilege.

How I work with clients

I take an empathetic and holistic approach, seeing each client as a whole person rather than simply someone who has been injured. One client once thanked me for treating her with respect, which was deeply humbling, and I believe this was because I recognised her interests, relationships and identity beyond her injury. My aim is always to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel understood, valued and confident in the process ahead.

Outcomes

ANON

I represented a young woman who suffered serious injuries due to negligence. During the claim, her partner died suddenly, leaving her feeling vulnerable and fearful for her daughter’s future. I secured a significant interim payment to give her financial security and the reassurance that she could provide for her child.

ANON

I supported a client who felt deeply let down by her GPs over many years and had lost trust in professionals. By the end of the case, obtaining an apology from the GP representatives made her feel heard and vindicated. For her, acknowledgement mattered more than compensation.

My team

I am part of a highly supportive team made up of solicitors and paralegals who are dedicated to securing the best results for our clients. We work closely together, each contributing our own skills and experience. That collective effort is what allows us to achieve strong outcomes and provide a seamless service.

What I enjoy about working at Fletchers

One of the best things about working at Fletchers is the team based approach. The collaborative environment allows us to share expertise, support one another and deliver the highest standard of service for our clients. Being part of a firm that values teamwork and client care makes a real difference to the work we do.

Outside of work

I used to be a keen runner, taking part in 5k, 10k and half marathon events. After a knee injury, I now focus on strength training and yoga, which allow me to stay active and maintain my wellbeing.
