Who am I

I have been a qualified solicitor for more than 30 years and have specialised in medical negligence and personal injury throughout my career. I now practise exclusively in medical negligence from our Richmond office. I work with clients across the country and can meet them at home, at one of our offices in Surrey, Hampshire or London, or at another location that suits them. I also act as a Court of Protection Deputy for clients who have received substantial compensation.

My cases involve injuries of maximum severity and include brain injuries acquired at birth or as a result of infection. I also have an interest in cases arising from complex surgery, delayed diagnosis of cauda equina syndrome and delayed diagnosis of cancer. In 2024 I recovered over £35,000,000 in compensation for clients whose life changing injuries were sustained as a result of sub-standard medical treatment.

Why I do this work

In my experience, people affected by medical negligence are often looking for more than financial compensation. Many want answers about what happened and reassurance that the same mistakes won’t happen to someone else. I work to seek these answers and help my clients move forward.

How I work with clients

My role is to guide clients through the claims process, which can often feel complex and overwhelming. I’ll explain each step clearly, answer any questions and help clients understand their options. Many people who have suffered serious injuries can no longer work and may need ongoing care and support in the future.

Outcomes

Misinterpretation of cervical smear tests

The case was successfully settled for £400,000. This compensation reflects the avoidable harm caused by the misinterpreted smear tests and provides financial support for the client’s future. It acknowledges the loss of her career as well as the physical and emotional challenges she endured, and the long-term impact on her quality of life.

Cerebral Palsy caused at birth

The case was successfully settled for over £4 million. This life-changing result ensures that the child will have access to the care, support, and financial stability he needs throughout his life. The compensation will fund essential therapies and specialist education. It can also support with adapted housing, and ongoing care provision, giving the family peace of mind and the ability to plan for the future.
