Who am I
I am a Partner, leading the Military Team here at Fletchers. I previously held the role of Head of Military at another leading law firm, and most recently led a team of lawyers at a national competitor in the ground-breaking Sea King, Puma, Wessex and Chinook aircraft litigation against the Ministry of Defence.
A significant focus of my practice is representing former and serving military aircrew who have developed serious health conditions, including cancer, following alleged prolonged exposure to carcinogenic helicopter exhaust emissions during service. This often means that people I represent are seriously unwell – and may need additional support from those around them. This is something I am mindful of during my work.
I have more than 15 years’ experience supporting serving personnel, veterans and their families, who have been injured or become seriously unwell during service. My work focuses on military accidents and claims involving carcinogenic or toxic exposure.
What I specialise in
Why I do this work
I am passionate about helping serving personnel and veterans understand their legal rights after suffering a serious injury, and help them to pursue the compensation and answers they deserve. A significant focus of my practice is representing former and serving military aircrew who have developed serious health conditions, including cancer, following alleged prolonged exposure to carcinogenic helicopter exhaust emissions during service. I believe it is critical to help these individuals who have been so committed to serving their country.
How I work with clients
Based at Catterick, just a few minutes away from the Garrison, I have built strong connections over many years, and offer genuine legal support to the personnel I represent. Having a presence in the military community is hugely important, and a privilege, as it means I have a unique understanding of the true impact of how the injury has affected their career, general wellbeing, and the wider impact on their families.
Throughout my career, I have advised on a wide range of military injury and illness claims, combining strategic legal expertise with a genuine understanding of the challenges faced by the Armed Forces community. My work often involves complex medical evidence, occupational disease claims and litigation against the Ministry of Defence.
