The incident

In June 2014, Dave was riding with his son when he was involved in a serious multi-vehicle motorcycle collision. He sustained life-changing injuries and woke up in hospital with no memory of the accident. Although doctors worked to save his left arm, the damage was too severe and amputation became necessary.
