Who am I

I trained as a solicitor in London between 2009 and 2011, and after qualifying, I chose to specialise in medical negligence.

In 2015, I relocated to Yorkshire, where I spent 10 years working on medical negligence claims. In 2025, I joined the specialist Birth Injury team at Fletchers in Leeds.

I have extensive experience representing clients who have suffered life-changing injuries due to failings in medical care. My role involves investigating what went wrong, working with leading experts, and securing compensation that can make a meaningful difference to my clients’ lives.

What I specialise in

Why I do this work

During my law studies, a close family member suffered a life-changing brain injury following an accident. This personal experience sparked my interest in medical negligence, and I’ve worked in this field since qualifying as a solicitor in 2011. I now specialise in high-value and complex claims relating to injuries around the time of birth.

As a mother of two young children, I’m particularly passionate about helping other parents seek answers and secure the support needed to improve their child’s quality of life. I find my work deeply rewarding, especially supporting clients through some of the most challenging times they face – helping them achieve justice and move forward with greater confidence and security.

How I work with clients

As birth injury cases can take time to investigate and resolve, I focus on providing clear, supportive and empathetic guidance throughout.

I’m always available for my clients and take the time to get to know the whole family, so I can understand their needs and support them as best as possible during what can be a difficult process.

Outcomes

ANON

£16million CP case on profile – the settlement meant that my client could purchase and adapt a home to meet his long-term needs. Importantly, this meant he could remain close to his parents, which was something he was delighted about.

ANON

A claim was settled on behalf of my client who experienced a fourth-degree tear during childbirth due to substandard care. As a result, she experienced ongoing symptoms, including incontinence, and required significant medical treatment, with further surgery likely in the future.

Although the claim was strongly contested, we were able to reach a settlement of around £350,000. This has provided my client with important financial security and support to help her manage her condition going forward.

My team

I work closely with Sahida Patel, who leads our Birth Injury team, and alongside Stuart Bell, whose attention to detail ensures every case is thoroughly prepared. With the support of our dedicated paralegal team, we provide a high level of expertise while building strong relationships with clients, ensuring they feel supported throughout.

What I enjoy about working at Fletchers

I’ve been at Fletchers for a year, and the culture really sets it apart from other firms. Small touches like monthly colleague celebrations and family fun days create a close, supportive feel, even as the firm continues to grow.

I also feel fortunate to work alongside such knowledgeable and approachable colleagues – there’s a genuine sense of kindness and teamwork across the business.

Outside of work

Outside of work, my two young children keep me busy. I enjoy running – having completed the Yorkshire Marathon in 3 hours 40 minutes – as well as walking in the countryside, reading, and snowboarding.
