Who am I

I am a medical negligence Associate Solicitor and have been qualified as a solicitor since 2012. I specialise in representing clients who have suffered catastrophic and life-changing injuries as a result of medical negligence, helping them secure the compensation and support they need to rebuild their lives.

Throughout my career, I have developed extensive experience in complex medical negligence litigation. Before focusing exclusively on these claims, I gained experience handling industrial disease claims, including mesothelioma, as well as employers’ liability and public liability matters. This broad background has strengthened my investigative approach and enables me to confidently manage technically complex, high-value cases.

Why I do this work

I have always been interested in medicine and, as a child, wanted to become a doctor. During high school I developed a passion for the law, and I now have the opportunity to combine both interests by helping people who have been affected by medical negligence.

I have a strong desire to support people who have experienced catastrophic and life-changing injuries. I understand the lasting impact these injuries can have on clients and their families, and I’m committed to helping them access the rehabilitation, housing, care and support they need to move forward. The most rewarding part of my role is securing outcomes that genuinely improve my clients’ quality of life and enable them to rebuild their futures.

How I work with clients

I am passionate about the investigatory side of the legal work and would describe myself as a forensic lawyer ensuring every avenue of evidence is explored to achieve the best possible outcome for my clients. As a catastrophic injury solicitor, I have to deal with a lot of challenging stories.

I am a very empathetic person and I take great care in building strong relationships with those I represent, understanding the true impact of their serious injuries and providing them with support throughout the lifetime of their case. I enjoy meeting my clients in their own home environment to get to know them on a personal level to enable me to obtain a bespoke settlement package for them as well as obtaining a very rewarding feeling myself when I settle their claim knowing just how much it means to them.

Qualifications

Outcomes

ANON – Cauda Equina Syndrome

Successfully represented a client who experienced a delay in the diagnosis and treatment of cauda equina syndrome. Although liability was strongly disputed, I secured a significant settlement which provided my client with the financial support they needed for the future.

ANON – Bladder Dysfunction

Represented an elderly protected party who suffered severe bladder dysfunction following a failure to provide appropriate catheter management. After extensive negotiations and supporting the claim with medical literature, I secured settlements against both defendants, enabling the family to purchase a much-needed mobility vehicle.

ANON – Stroke

I act for a client in a multi-million-pound claim arising from a life-changing stroke following the cessation of anticoagulant medication before an angiogram procedure. The case involves complex issues relating to liability, causation and future care needs.

ANON – Third-Degree Tear

Represented a woman who sustained an avoidable third-degree tear during childbirth, resulting in significant bladder and bowel dysfunction and affecting her ability to care for her young child.

ANON – Delay in Vulval Cancer Treatment

Secured a settlement for a client who experienced a delay in the diagnosis and treatment of vulval cancer, helping her obtain compensation for the consequences of the delayed treatment.

What I enjoy about working at Fletchers

I’ve been part of Fletchers for 10 years now and whilst a lot has changed over the years, clients are still at the heart of everything we do. I enjoy being able to handle solely complex catastrophic injury work allowing me to fully utilise my forensic skills. Colleagues are supportive of one another and there is a real sense of team work and friendship. The flexible working is also really helpful as I have a young family, and I enjoy having the flexibility of being able to visit our different offices.
