Jennifer Craven

I’m an Associate Solicitor and Team Leader in our Clinical Negligence department, specialising in complex clinical negligence claims.

I have a varied caseload, as well as supervising and supporting other team members. I’ve worked in personal injury and clinical negligence since 2006, and I’ve specialised in clinical negligence since 2013. During my career, I’ve gained experience in a wide range of claims, including those involving amputation, birth injury, brain and spinal injury, delays in cancer diagnosis, fatal and dependency claims, GP negligence, orthopaedic injury, and surgical error.

I take great pride in helping individuals and families navigate incredibly difficult circumstances. Helping people during some of the most challenging moments of their lives is the most rewarding part of my job.

I’ve always had a keen interest in medicine, and clinical negligence work allows me to retain that interest in a legal setting.

I have a thorough and tenacious approach, with an unwavering commitment to achieving the best possible outcome for my clients. If a client had any queries or concerns, I would much rather they call whenever needed so that I can provide reassurance.

This claim involved a severe injury sustained during childbirth. Although responsibility was initially disputed, we were able to carefully build the case and secure a full admission of liability, alongside a significant settlement.

This outcome meant the client could access the treatment and support she needed, helping to improve her quality of life and lessen the impact of her injuries on both her daily life and her family.

Our team work closely together on every case, with input from different team members as it progresses to ensure our clients receive consistent, well-rounded support throughout.

A particular highlight of my time at Fletchers includes opening a new office in Newcastle, building and developing the team in the Northeast, and helping to establish and grow the Fletchers presence in the region.

Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my husband and our two daughters, often keeping up with their many hobbies and activities!
