Sharine Burgess

I’m a Partner at Fletchers with over 25 years’ experience handling a wide range of complex, high-value claims involving brain injury, significant psychiatric illness, occupational stress, military claims, sexual abuse, industrial disease, and clinical negligence.

I particularly enjoy working with clients with complex conditions, often in very challenging circumstances, and I’m committed to ensuring they are treated with dignity and respect, with their individual needs fully supported throughout the legal process. This approach has helped build my reputation among peers, other professionals, and charities.

I also work closely with local charities, including Headway East Northampton and the Acquired Brain Injury Forum Northants (ABIF Northants), where I sit on the management committee and collaborate with professionals to support individuals with acquired brain injuries.

My grandma suffered a life changing brain injury, so I grew up acutely aware of the challenges it brings every day. My lived experience gives me a real understanding of the huge impact of brain injury, and a strong desire to help and support families to come to terms with what has happened and move forward in a positive way.

I work with clients with complex conditions in sometimes very challenging circumstances. I strive to ensure those individuals are supported fully throughout the legal process and are treated with dignity and respect. I’ve acted for hundreds of clients over the years, but have always treated every client as an individual with unique requirements; I provide a bespoke service to all clients.

Our purpose is to help rebuild the lives of people affected by serious injury, and my team brings this to life every day through their expertise, compassion, and commitment to delivering an excellent client experience.

Following the launch of our Northampton office in 2025, as a Partner and Office Head I have played a pivotal role in establishing a positive, collaborative and high-performing culture. Working closely with colleagues in the serious injury teams, we have established Northampton as a centre of excellence for serious injury work putting our clients at the heart of everything we do and creating an inclusive environment where colleagues feel valued, supported and empowered to develop their careers.
