I’m a Senior Associate, specialising in medical negligence cases.

In my role, I represents clients in a broad range of cases, including claims arising out of amputations, spinal cord injuries, and delayed cancer diagnosis. I’ve also acted for clients following the death of a family member, including representation at Inquest.

In addition to my legal work, I’m also a firm supporter of local charities, in particular Headway. My charitable endeavours have led to an appointment as a co-opted trustee of a local charitable organisation, where I’m also a volunteer.

I am a Senior Associate driven by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients’ lives. My motivation to work in this field stems from a strong belief that when individuals suffer harm – particularly through no fault of their own – they deserve clear answers, accountability, and the support needed to move forward.

I am inspired by the real impact my work can have, from securing compensation to enabling access to care and support they need to rebuild their lives.

I also have a strong sense of duty, and I am committed to the broader purpose of my work – which can act as an important driver for service improvement and patient safety. I recognise that the law plays a vital role within a wider system of checks and balances, contributing to the fair and effective functioning of our national and private health services.

Medical negligence claims are often deeply personal. I take the time to understand each client’s individual circumstances, the impact of their injury on daily life, and their priorities for the future. I value being approachable and responsive, providing reassurance and clear guidance throughout what can be a complex and emotional process.

Below-knee amputation Following complications with a foot ulcer, the client underwent a below-knee amputation, which had a profound impact on his independence and daily life. One of the most significant moments in his recovery was adapting to the use of a prosthetic limb and regaining confidence in his mobility. With the right support in place, he was able to carry out everyday activities more independently, restoring a sense of dignity and stability that had been deeply affected.

Compromised knee (ACL injury) As an active footballer, the client experienced a life-changing setback when her knee injury left her unable to return to the sport she loved in the same way. A key part of her journey was coming to terms with this loss while finding new ways to stay active and involved. Through rehabilitation and support, she was able to rebuild her strength and confidence, focusing on maintaining an active lifestyle and setting new personal goals beyond competitive sport.

Permanent wrist injury for a tradesman reliant on his hands for his livelihood, the injury significantly disrupted both his career and sense of identity. A defining moment for him was finding practical ways to adapt, whether through modified work or exploring alternative roles, so he could regain a degree of independence and financial stability. Being able to look ahead with a revised plan, rather than feeling defined by the injury, marked an important step forward.

Delayed cancer diagnosis for the family, the loss of their daughter following a delayed diagnosis was devastating. Throughout the process, what mattered most to the family was having the opportunity to seek answers and understand what had happened. Being able to reflect her life and ensure her story was heard formed an important part of their journey. The case was not just about legal accountability, but about remembrance, recognition, and finding a way to move forward while keeping her memory at the centre.

Since joining Fletchers, I have developed my practice within a supportive and collaborative environment, handling a wide range of complex and high-value medical negligence cases. I find the work fulfilling, given the real difference it can make to clients navigating life-changing injuries. I value challenge of handling cases that require detailed analysis of the evidence, quantum, and long-term care needs, while remaining focused on achieving outcomes that genuinely support clients’ futures. The nature of this work has enabled me to develop a strong specialism in high-value claims, supported by opportunities for progression within the firm. I also appreciate the collaborative culture at Fletchers, working alongside experienced colleagues within the (Gold) team and a dedicated wider support network. This team-based approach ensures that each case is handled with the level of care, expertise, and attention it requires. Combined with a flexible and modern working environment, this enables me to deliver a high standard of service while remaining responsive to clients’ individual needs.

I am a firm supporter of local charities, particularly Headway. My commitment to charitable causes has led to my appointment as a co-opted trustee of a local charitable organisation, where I also volunteer my time outside of work. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and staying active through competitive sports, particularly football and badminton. As a youngster, I had the unique opportunity to play a game of badminton with Olympic gold medallist Rexy Mainaky – an experience that sparked my lasting interest in the sport.
