Types of serious injury work we take on

Our team handles serious injury claims where the effects can be complex and long-lasting. That means looking beyond the injury itself to understand its impact on your independence, work, family life and future.

How our serious injury team can support you

  • Understand the full impact of your injury: We look at how your injury affects your health, independence, work, family and everyday life.

  • Bring together the right expertise: We work with case managers, medical & rehabilitation specialists to understand your needs.

  • Plan for now and the future: We consider rehabilitation, care, accommodation, equipment, lost earnings and other future needs.

Understanding more about the team

Serious injury claims can involve complex medical evidence and significant questions about what someone will need for the rest of their life. Our role is to bring that information together and make sure your claim reflects the full impact of your injury.

We start by understanding what life was like before your injury and what has changed. Where appropriate, we work with independent experts to assess your injuries, rehabilitation and future needs. We can consider care, treatment, equipment, accommodation, loss of earnings and the support you may need to live as independently as possible.

Throughout your claim, you’ll work with a dedicated specialist legal team, led by an appropriate serious injury specialist. We’ll explain the evidence, your options and the next steps clearly, so you and your family can make informed decisions.

The benefits of working with a specialist serious injury team

Serious injury claims require careful consideration of both the legal case and the long-term consequences of an injury. Our specialists understand how to investigate complex evidence and build a claim that considers what you need now, as well as what life may look like years from now.

FAQs about our serious injury team

Why should I choose a specialist serious injury legal team?

Serious injury claims can involve complex medical evidence and needs that may continue for many years. A specialist team understands how to investigate those issues and identify the evidence needed to show how your injury has affected your life.

Our team considers more than the immediate consequences. We look at rehabilitation, care, accommodation, equipment, work and other future needs where relevant, helping to make sure these are properly considered as part of your claim.

Who will handle my serious injury claim?

You’ll work with a dedicated specialist legal team, led by an appropriate serious injury specialist. The people involved will depend on the circumstances and complexity of your case.

We’ll explain who is working on your claim, what they are doing and what happens next. You’ll also receive clear updates as your case progresses.

What happens when I first contact the serious injury team?

We’ll start by listening to what happened and understanding how the injury has affected you. We can then discuss whether we may be able to help and explain your options in clear, straightforward language.

You do not need to understand the legal process before contacting us. Our specialists will explain what information we need and guide you through the next steps.

Will you work with medical and rehabilitation experts?

Yes. Serious injuries can have complex consequences, so independent specialist evidence can be important in understanding your diagnosis, prognosis, rehabilitation and future needs.

Depending on your circumstances, we may work with medical specialists, rehabilitation professionals, case managers and other relevant experts. We’ll explain why their input is needed and how it relates to your claim.

Can the team help with rehabilitation while my claim is ongoing?

Where appropriate, our team will consider rehabilitation and other immediate support needs while your claim progresses. Our dedicated Rehabilitation & Wellbeing team can help identify appropriate rehabilitation to suit your needs and recover journey. We will also fight to secure interim payments to help meet urgent rehabilitation costs.

An interim payment is part of your compensation paid before the claim concludes. Where available, it can help fund needs such as rehabilitation, care, treatment or equipment rather than requiring you to wait until the end of the case.

How will you assess what I might need in the future?

We look carefully at how your injury could affect different parts of your life over the long term. Depending on your circumstances, this could include future care, rehabilitation, accommodation, specialist equipment, loss of earnings and the support you may need to maintain your independence.

Where necessary, we work with appropriate independent experts to understand these needs and gather evidence. This helps us build a claim based on your individual circumstances rather than focusing only on the injury itself.

Will my family be involved in the claim?

A serious injury can affect the whole family. With your agreement, we can involve the people closest to you where this would help us understand your circumstances or make the process easier for you.

We’ll keep our advice clear and make sure you and your family understand what is happening, particularly when important decisions need to be made.

It’s about giving people hope and showing that, even after a life-changing injury, they can rebuild and thrive.
